THE STORY EXPLAINS THE GLORY! Pt 2

(Aliko Dangote (Africa's richest man today) Encounter with God's Legend, Arch. Bishop Benson Idahosa in the early 90 s)

Aliko Dangote was born into a wealthy home in Kano. He got his first-degree in Cairo, Egypt. He had always loved trading, and reports say he hawked sweets even as a primary school child, even though his family was wealthy. Dangote is really a very humble person even by the confessions of people who have interacted with him.

But Dangote is not the only hardworking Nigerian. He is not the only humble person around. He is probably not the most business savvy in Africa. But he is certainly the richest Blackman in the world. His companies employ several thousands of people directly – not to mention, distributors, contractors and other vendors who depend on his businesses to thrive. Dangote is a blessing to humanity.

There is no family in Nigeria today that does not have a Dangote product in their home. If it is not sugar, then it is salt or the house some Nigerians are living in was built with a Dangote Cement. Everyone has something to do with his business, so like Job, he earns a little off everyone and that is the way to get wealthy. Aliko Dangote is the 23 rd richest person in the world and is said to be the second most powerful African alive.

The question is how did Dangote attain such a height?

Yes, you can' t take away his hard work and business acumen, but that is only the starting point. The answer will not be found in the Forbes Magazine or on Wikipedia. The answer is in the verse of scripture; "If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land." Isa 1: 19.

Sometime in the early 90 s, Aliko Dangote had an encounter that set his foot on the path of destiny. Archbishop Benson Idahosa of blessed memory had some guests who needed to travel back urgently from Benin City to Lagos to catch up their flight to the United States. Unfortunately by the time the Archbishop took his guests to the airport, they were told that the last flight for the day was overbooked and not a single seat was available. As a matter of fact, the passengers have boarded and were about to take off. Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa asked for the plane to be delayed a few minutes and walked to the tarmac where he was allowed to address the passengers. He pleaded with them about the desperate situation of his guests and asked that two persons should donate their seats for his guests to get to Lagos.

Everyone in that plane who was a Christian, not one of them bated an eyelid. Some pretended to be asleep, some pretended to be praying and the man of God stood waiting.

From the back of the plane, a young man asked the person sitting next to him to get up and together they vacated their seat for the American visitors.

Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa stopped him in the aisle of the plane and asked,

“Youngman, what is your name and what do you do?”

“My name is Dangote, Aliko Dangote and this is my assistant. I am a trader, a businessman.”

It was there and then, that Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa prophesied these powerful words over his life “the World will get up for you.” He prayed that God should take his business beyond Africa and bless him beyond measure.

Today, God has answered that prayer. God destined that blessing for someone seated in that plane that evening. But there was a condition attached to it –

Dangote's wealth today was meant for a Christian businessman who was too proud, too fixated in his mind to offer the men of God their seat as requested by God's servant, Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa of blessed memory.

My question is if you were there on that plane, would you have taken the blessing?

UNIVERSITY & ADVERSITY!

Are University and Adversity related?

Yes, the relationship between University and Adversity is that both are Universities. Adversity is an independent University in its own rights.

The knowledge and wisdom obtainable in Adversity are not available anywhere else. Have you been there before? If you haven't, even if you are a graduate, in the real sense of graduation, you are still an undergraduate.

What is the difference between a University and Adversity?

Although both are universities, there exist several differences between them, but for space and time, I'll zero down to four.

i) A University teaches people "what to think," while Adversity teaches people "how to think." Learning what to think limits the mind's ability to explore, but learning how to think gives the mind ample space for limitless creativity and imagination.

ii) In a University, academic courses are taught. Adversity employs contrary situations and circumstances as courses, which demand the inner powers of the human mind and spirit for explosive expressions.

iii) A University offers credentials, but Adversity empowers human potential and delivers its students' mastery of life's situations and circumstances.

iv) University is truly an undergraduate program compared to the program of work Adversity offers.

When Adversity calls, get excited, for you are enrolling in the highest institute of learning, which has given the world the best minds in all fields.

Don't Settle!

The destiny of a seed is a tree if the right factors are in place. Every human being can become relevant to their generation, but the required process necessary to make that happen is what many are unwilling to follow.

Some begin the process but later abort it in their pursuit of the "immediate," while others don't even bother, leaving them as a burden and liability on earth.

The highest burden on mother earth is human beings occupying space and feeding from mother earth but living far below the divine expectation attached to their existence.

You can become a "nation," don't die as a mere notion. You can make a significant global impact, don't retire as a local hero. You can have an enduring legacy, don't live for the immediate.

You can achieve much more than just food on your table, a house to live in, and a car to take you around; life is much more than survival. You weren't sent to the world to be a wanderer but one of the wonders of your times.

"You can walk in glory; you can't afford to live as a story. If you pursue and acquire the right information and formation, your transformation will be inevitable.

There is much more about knowing Christ than what many Christians have settled for. Our mission is to inspire and raise a new generation of God's people who are determined to travel farther than where millions of sincere believers have camped. If you are sick and tired of going in circles in your walk with the Lord and sick and tired of your usual experiences, you may be one of those ordained by God to be inspired via this mentorship program.

Christ saw a Disciple and a fisher of men in an ordinary fisherman (Peter), but Peter didn't become a disciple and a fisher of men because Jesus saw that in him. He became (a disciple and a fisher of men) because he turned the vision of Christ about him into his vision for his life and cooperated effectively with his making process.

No one can make another person something the individual does not believe in, perceive and pursues with passion. A mentor can see in you what you don't know about yourself; he may equally inspire you to see what he sees, but your "becoming" is your ultimate decision and determination to cooperate with your making process.

The greatest burden one can ever bear is trying to get someone to a place the individual doesn't see nor is interested in getting there. You can only carry such an individual to a distance, but they will sooner or later become a weight on you. One can only take people as far as they are willing to go.

"If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask."

Be Informed!

From Genesis to Revelation, one thing is unique with all the actors whose stories gave us the scripture we now have; they all received critical information that changed their destiny. Nothing is as powerful as having the right information; whoever keeps you from quality information would ultimately control your destiny. If there were a better way to say what I just said, I would have said it that way. Noah survived with his family of eight, while the rest of the world of his time perished because he got informed about the impending doom and what he should do.

Timely and relevant information is the difference between life and death, failure, and success. I feel so sorry for this generation; we spend to acquire just everything but complain when it comes to information. This nonchalant attitude towards knowledge may ultimately lead to our "Waterloo." A word to a wise is sufficient!
MENTORSHIP! TAKING YOU THERE!

God Has More Than You In Mind!

When God works in your life, He always has more people in mind than you. When He was working in the life of Abraham, He had the families of the earth in mind. (Gen 12:3)

When He was working in the life of Joseph, He had the preservation of the twelve tribes of Israel in mind, including Egypt and the world of that time. (Gen 50:20)

When God was working in the life of Moses, He had the liberation of Israel from Egypt in mind. (Ex 3:10)

When God promoted Esther, He had the preservation of the Jews in mind (Esther4:13-14), etc.

There is a purpose for everything under the sun. Have you ever wondered why you are where you are and why you have what you have? In other not to die before God's intended time, it's critical we come to terms with God's purpose for our lives.

The rich young fool never knew this; he thought his wealth was for self-aggrandizement, and God required his soul the same night he thought of spending what he had to eat, drink and make merry.       (Luke 12:16-21)

To live long in this life, we need to be conscious of God's broader purpose for our lives. We are not on earth for a picnic; each of us is here for a purpose bigger than us. It's about time we focused on using what, where, and who we are to make a difference in people's lives and to fulfil God's purpose for who, what and where we are.

It Is Time To Move From The Familiar To The Unfamiliar!

Familiar may also mean "Nothing new to offer." Reading familiar books, listening to familiar speakers, attending familiar meetings, visiting familiar places, and keeping familiar people around you may deprive you of fresh insight and new opportunities.
It is time to break out of unnecessary customs and traditions limiting you to familiar experiences. You deserve much more! Lift your eyes beyond your everyday world; look northwards, southwards, eastwards, and westwards. The extent of your vision and engagement will determine the length of your influence.

You Are A Mobile Book!

You are a "Mobile book" with contents: your birth was just the preface. You were to live each chapter and complete the entire book before your exit. Don't live your life as a closed book; you need spiritual alignment with your creator and relative mental, physical, and social development to interpret each chapter of your life.

Ponder!

In Biblical history, a generation of God's people left Egypt but unfortunately wandered and died in the wilderness. This piece of Bible history is repeated in every age and dispensation.

The destiny of those who die in the wilderness and those who enter the promised land in their generation and dispensation is not a function of predestination but individual choices and attitudes.

There are decisions and choices we make today, and the attitudes we express can disqualify us from the promised land. As we look forward to the future, we must check our choices and attitude.

Don't die in the wilderness; make the hard decisions today to be part of the sift and shift needed for you to be a part of the NEW MOVE!

Food For Thought!

 I) Leaders are supposed to be at least ten years ahead of their time. That is the minimum range of vision and comprehension required for leadership effectiveness, not the maximum.

2) Breakthrough is only possible when one steps out to do what others are not doing in one's area of calling or profession.

3) If you are told to travel a mile, go twain. Why? It is the extra mile that separates champions from mediocre's.

4) Fear is not a disqualification but how you respond to it.

5) If you do today what you did yesterday, it is a sign of stagnation in vision and perspective.

6) When you are inspired to go, step out, and stop asking where to go to. Often, details and clarity come to those on the way.

7) What you do conveniently impedes the maximization of your potential.

Food For Thought!

Each of us has a battle in our lives; we must decide where the victory goes. The battle is between the deep craving within us for significance in our area of purpose for our generation, and the pressure to settle for survival, and the pursuit of mundanities. Each of us must make the ultimate decision on where the victory goes in this battle.

Christ, Mentored His Disciples!

If Jesus took ordinary fishers and tax collectors and transformed them into authors, pioneers, and his kingdom ambassadors within three years and six months, it implies capacity building for the effectiveness of those who should represent Him as his ambassadors is critical.

Jesus didn't transform ordinary people into authors, leaders,  speakers, pioneers, and his ambassadors by the bottles of water and oil He poured on them weekly and the candles He gave them to sell. Neither did He transform them by arousing them with prophecies and spiritual ecstasies. He mentored them by teaching them truths about God's kingdom and will on earth as it is in heaven.

To him, the church should be a school, not to fool people but to educate them about the plan of God and his broader vision for humanity.

It seems as if we are running our shows today under our different denominational covers for our attainment. Minors have become majors, and trivialities have become our ardent pursuit.

Some 21st-century Elijahs may need to arise to lead the prophets of Baal masquerading as God's prophets to another Mount Carmel showdown. It's either a funeral or a revolution!

Disciples and true men-tees ask questions to uncover the intention behind certain actions, lessons embedded in experiences, and the wisdom hidden in dark sayings, but "multitudes" criticize whatever they don't understand. That's why their identity remains missing and lost within the crowd. Are you a disciple or a part of the multitudes?
