The man at the pool of Bethesda said to Jesus: "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me." (John 5:7)
Let's ponder on the phrase ' I have no man."
A man lived in a quagmire for 38 years not because of Satan, but because he had "no man" to put him into the pool when the water was stirred up for the healing of all manner of sicknesses. The question is; where were the parents or friends of the man?
Well, the answer is obvious; few people can identify with someone when the going gets tough. Thank God! When everyone runs away from us because of our circumstances, we can lean on Christ.
Jesus Christ will always walk in when others walk out. As much as we need people in our lives, we should never forget that people have limitations. They can be there at times and not be there in other times, but we can always trust Christ to be with us in season and out of season.
"I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matt 28:20b).
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. (Isa 243:2)
It is always important to know that, Christ may use people in different seasons of our lives to connect us to opportunities for change and advancement. We simply need the right discernment to know whom the Lord is bringing our way in each season of our life.
To miss the right individual may actually result to another year in the same mess. When a God sent individual comes across your path, something positive will happen. It's just unfortunate at times that, many people out of ignorance and certain manipulations, persecute the same people sent by God for their breakthrough.
"Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Matt 23: 37
Sometime, I wonder if Cameroon is the modern-day Jerusalem that constantly kills and blackmails her God sent men and women. I pray for Cameroonians everywhere for a change of mentality and attitude. It may be very easy at times to believe a fraud than a genuine person. We need the right discernment in this season. Don't spend another year by the "pool of Bethesda" when you can walk home healed and restored. DrBenard Etta
