There are people who get so offended by statements like the one I just made about the kingdom of God being the answer and not religion. I've come to the realization that, the maladies of this generation can't be cured by a polite sugarcoated sermon preached from behind a wooden pulpit or a passionless lecture delivered within the corridors of power or in our academic institutions. The true cost of freedom is nothing, but the truth revealed and received.
It is important to note that, the truth is always hidden and the knowledge of the truth is only revealed. It takes the revelation and effective propagation of the truth to transform and restore all things into harmony with the Truth that governs all things. The obstacle to the above breakthrough is our substitution of the kingdom of God for religion and religion for the kingdom.
The kingdom of God is not a religion, but a "civilization," which can be lived, experienced and established on this earth. It is the one and only "civilization," with what it takes to restore the harmony between humanity and divinity, and the harmony between humans in relation to all other living species and harmony with the earth.
No human civilization has ever succeeded in achieving this wholesome harmony, which is the actual cure of our human predicaments. We are living in a dysfunctional world and environment and consciously and unconsciously living dysfunctional lives. This state of disequilibrium is what created all the maladies in our humanity and in our environment.
When the revelation of the kingdom is download from eternity into time, it comes with the fullness of what it takes for us to experience life, more abundantly. What is this abundant life? It is the wholesome harmony between humans and God, and harmony between humans in relation with other living species and harmony with the earth. This is the kind of harmony experienced in heaven and the harmony, which existed in the garden of Eden before the fall. And, it takes the kingdom of God for this harmony to be possible.
The kingdom of God is what makes heaven what it is, if you take away the kingdom of God from heaven, you would have a mini hell. Thus, wherever the kingdom of God is extended, heaven is ushered there. Jesus greatest passion was not to establish denominations (Catholism, Protestantism and Pentecostalism), but to restore the revelation and understanding of the kingdom of God to humanity.
For Jesus dream of the kingdom to be realized in this generation, we would have to be born-again, again! Some people think born-again is an evangelistic message for sinners. No! It is a message to the church; Jesus was not addressing a publican when he made the born-again statement, he was talking to a teacher of the law and of the Jews. Nicodemus was a highly significant religious personality among the Jews, but Christ confronted him with the need of being born-again, as the only guarantee for revelation and access to the kingdom.
It's time for the born-again to be born again, again. When this takes place, we would be given access to the revelation and understanding of the kingdom of God and the wisdom to implement/ establish the kingdom on the earth. This message is not for everyone, but to those it was given. Don't try to understand it with your head; apply your heart. The Spirit of God is present to give you illumination. DrBenard Etta
