John 6:27 -28.
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God, the Father has placed his seal of approval." Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" May the Lord bless his word in our hearts in Jesus name!
What must we do to do the works of God? You may be asking the same question or wondering how to turn "your ministry" into a potential force of positive transformation in your city or nation. Listen, God is not complicated as most people think; his ways are simple when you walk with Him with a renewed mind.
When the people asked Jesus what they must do to do the works of God, his response was simple, "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent." John 6, verse 29.
He didn't ask them to bath naked or walk barefooted for 21 days like some imposters today would have done. He told them to believe in Him, whom God has sent. That is where many are missing it!
There are two principles in the response of Christ indispensable in our quest to do God's work, and we will look at them briefly.
This is the work of God that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. God's work is summed up in one person, Jesus Christ. No one should attempt any work in God's name without a revelation of Jesus Christ. Every aspect of the life of Christ as written in the scripture unveils a dimension of God's wisdom needed for our ultimate manifestation and impact on the earth.
Secondly, "believing in Him whom God has sent," is a principle of the kingdom. In every generation, there are individuals God sends as custodians of the revelation of the mind of God. Christ, the wisdom and power of God, walks the earth through these individuals for the accomplishment of God's prophetic plan. The discernment to identify these individuals and the humility to accept them are among the top breakthroughs in doing God's work in every generation.
Those who walk in this wisdom seldom have lame and mediocre ministries. All kingdom Generals throughout history and present times were birthed and shaped for their assignments by identifying and connecting to those God sent in their times.
That was the reason for the divine connection between Archbishop Benson Idahosa and Gordon Lindsay. Oral Roberts and T.L. Osborn, Dr.Lester Sumrall, and Smith Wigglesworth, R. W. Schambach, and A. A. Allen. Reinhard Bonnke and George Jeffreys, Benny Hinn and Kathryn Kuhlman.
It is practically impossible to have a ministry that produces New Testament results in a significant way without identifying with those God sent in your time and tapping from them. I am not saying you should learn from anyone who performs miracles; we need so much discernment in these last days. Christ is the word and the truth, so observing and learning from those who are living expression of the truth of God's word is one of the wisdom required for anyone to do the works of God.
In conclusion, to do the works of God, we must have a personal revelation of Christ by the word and also, we must identify those God sent to our era and learn from them. If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God! Ponder to be a wonder!
