Foundation text: Proverbs 8, verse 12. "I Wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions." May the Lord bless his Word in our hearts in Jesus' name!
Silicon Valley, in the southern San Francisco Bay Area of California, is home to many start-ups and global technology companies. Apple, Facebook, and Google are among the most prominent. It is also the site of technology-focused institutions. The question is, where is The Silicon Valley Of The Church? God is a creative and inventive God; full of wisdom for witty inventions. It is God's desire for his people to be leaders in inventions, smart devices, ingenious contrivances, and bright ideas.
The question begging for answer is, Why is the church not there? The reason is apparent; we have not given wisdom the place it deserves in the church. People go up mountains to seek God's power, but scarcely his wisdom. We proclaim Christ only as the power of God, but the Scripture says in 1st Corinthians 1, verse 24, that Christ is both the power and the Wisdom of God.
We spend so much on building physical buildings, but careless about developing minds. Where are our libraries? How many of our local churches, including the Mega ones that have sophisticated libraries for their congregants? Do you see why we don't yet have our own Silicon Valley? Scarcely you find a church program on ingenious creativity, inventions, and innovations, where believers are challenged and inspired to think inventions and creative arts. We wonder why we don't yet have our own Silicon Valley.
For more than 2000 years, Christ has been proclaimed through the church as the power of God, but He is not only the power of God. He is also the Wisdom of God. We have arrived at the era when Christ will reveal his glory to the world as the Wisdom of God. It will take the Wisdom of God for the church to come out with unmatched creative inventions and innovations as 21st-century "tracts" to introduce Christ as the Wisdom of God to the world.
God made wisdom his possession at the beginning (Proverbs 8, verse 22) even before He created the heavens and the earth. That explains the secret behind the uniqueness and the glory we see in all his creations. The time has come for the practical application of wisdom in crafting solutions, a time for witty inventions, ingenious contrivances, smart devices, and bright ideas. To operate in the glory of this era as God's people, we must seek God's Wisdom more than we look for silver (Money). The Wisdom of God is Christ. 1 Corinthians 1, verse 24. I love them that love me, and those that seek me early shall find me: Proverbs 8, verse 17.
Solomon is famous after 4000 years, not for the power he exhibited, but for his wisdom.
1 Kings 3, verses 5 to 13.
In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. Amen!
The wisdom of Solomon brought royalties to Israel to see and hear the wisdom of Solomon. Famous among them was the queen of Sheba.
Meditate on Proverbs 8, verses 1 to 36. We are in the wisdom era of the church: Isaiah spells out the impact of this era in his own words in Isaiah 2, verses 2 to 3.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
Isaiah's prophetic vision of the last days clearly shows that the nations will come to the mountain of the house of God, not for prophecies or miracles, but to learn the ways of God. Does that mean the power of God will no longer be in operation? That is not what we are saying, the power of God will always be available, but the wisdom of God will take its rightful place as the principal thing.
Proverbs 4, verse 7.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Wisdom is the principal thing, not power. May the Lord inspire us to seek Him as wisdom in this strategic wisdom era of the church in Jesus name! We hope you have been inspired to seek Christ as wisdom, not limiting Him to power. Glory to God!
