A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. Proverbs 1:5
The Lord told Elijah, "Hide," and later said to him, "show yourself to Ahab" (1Kgs 17:3, and 1Kgs 18:1). May God give you the humility to allow him to hide you for as long as it is necessary before bringing you to the open.
When I look at today's generation, there is the perception that once you have a gift, you need to get yourself out there for the world to see. The above perception is not only dangerous but has led to the early exit of many potential men and women even before their initial impact.
In John 7:2-9, the brothers of Jesus urged him to go to Judea for a show-off, but he told them, his time has not yet come. Listen to the voice of immaturity. The brothers of Jesus said to him, "For there is no man that doeth anything in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world."John 7:4.
How I wish I could convince those God ordained this message for to seek God for the grace to stay in the closet until the time of their showing forth. We talk about the anointing of John the Baptist that brought people from towns and cities just to listen to him, but one of his secrets is what I'm talking about here. John the Baptist stayed in the wilderness until the time of his showing forth to Israel. Luke 1:80.
When I joined Facebook, for the first one year, I shared little but was busy observing and learning. I posted few photos of my activities. I don't know why most people think that every bit of their operations needs to be on Facebook. You cast out one miserable demon, and someone vomited, and you uploaded it on Facebook and embarrassed the person before the whole world. Listen, not all church services are supposed to be aired live on Facebook. There are some teachings you need to master before inviting people to join your live broadcast on Facebook.
Brethren, the public we all admire is a good platform to impact lives, but the same public can be unforgiven when you get yourself into a mess. So, stay in the closet until the timing of the Lord for your showing forth. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Eccl 10:10. Ponder! DrBenard Etta
