The state of our world today is partly due to gross failure at our home fronts. IT'S TIME TO SAY "NO" TO PRETENSE!

In today's modern age, no other negative attitude is as common in our marketplaces and among acquaintances like pretense.
 
What is it all about?
 
It is a charade, sham, make believe, deceit, deception and affectation of who and what you aren't or do not intent to do.
 
For instance; smiling with someone when actually you are very displeased with the individual.
 
To say to someone; “I LOVE YOU,” when it is a sham.
 
It is telling someone, I'll be there for you, when you have no intention of being there for the person. It is saying towards a cause; “count me in,” when you know you have no interest in what is going on.
 
If pretense was a commodity, it would be trending very high in the stock market.
 
Pretense is a cancer we all must endeavor to uproot from our lives. It is hurtful, undependable and it breeds distrust.
 
How do we deal with this social disease?
 
It is very easy, if we all decide for once to be real! That is, to be one with our expressions. If you are displeased with someone, be real about it. Stop faking smiles, which don't really exist. If you don't love someone, don't pretend about it. If someone's service is not good, tell the individual exactly what you think. Let's be real to one another! Let's stop pretending!
 
Pretense gives false impression, which may lead to future disappointments. Pretenders are more dangerous than real enemies who portray their wickedness. Don't have any dealings with a pretender; there is no future for such relationship. This is an appeal! Let's refrain from pretense. Let's endeavor to be real! Dr.Etta

Marry your friend; someone who understands you to an extent and not a stranger. Marriage to a complete stranger might be detrimental. Dr.Etta

MARRIAGE IS FOR BETTER, NOT FOR WORSE!!!

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Eccl 4:9-12)

In marriage, the power of two as written in the above scripture is not experienced simply because two individuals decide to get married. It is released in a marriage when the couples work to transform their marriage from mere "paperwork," into an actual relationship. To be married is one thing, for marriage couples to establish true relationship is another thing entirely. Some got married to their own determent, while others for multiplied results; it all depends on the knowledge and understanding on which a marriage relationship is built on.

Marriage was instituted for better and not for "worse" as taught in several places. When God established marriage in the beginning, "worse" wasn't his agenda. It's time we take back our marriages from the influence of ignorance.

Relationship with God is the greatest of all relationships. In fact, it guides, directs and determines the quality of our entire relationship dynamics. Relationship is a universal reality; encompassing both living and nonliving things. The survival of everything in existence is due to some sort of relationship with other things. For instance, living things like plants, animals and microbes and their nonliving component of their environment like air, water and mineral salt, interact in a system and are linked to one another in a kind of relationship. This is known as the ecosystem system. Humans, on the other hand, as social beings, are equally wired and designed to live and function effectively in relationship with others. No single individual can attain his or her full potential in isolation.

There is a difference between having relations and being in a relationship; being married and having a marriage relationship. There are married people who are still single. You can be surrounded by friends, colleagues and family members and yet be very lonely. Relationship has been misunderstood. It is deeper than what we think and what we have been taught. To be in Love with someone in hope of getting married is not yet relationship. It is a move towards a relationship-building process. You can't take a process for an end product; it's just like taking a pathway for a destination. Our definition determines our destination. DrBenard Etta  

The natural and social relations in our lives are not yet relationships; we have to take conscious steps to convert these relations into potential relationships via the principles and practices of relationship building. Dr.Etta 

 Not all attempts to build a relationship may lead to one; we must realize that, relationship can't be bought or force on anyone. It comes naturally when two or more individuals discover that, they have shared values, vision, purpose, mission, and interest. It takes time to build lasting relationship, and we must be willing to invest enough time to establish real relationships, which will stand the test of time. There is a lot of "noise" today about being in love. What really is love? Love is a deliverance from self, leading to the embrace of someone without precondition. When you truly love, you'll put yourself out of the way for the one you love. That is, the one you love becomes the focus and not you. That's why; love is not easy to come by; love is truly dying to self. Dr.Benard Etta

Relationship Thought!

You know your true friends not when you're on the mountain top, but when going through the valley. The valley helps to expose the character of the people in your life. Dr.Etta

Marriage is not for boys and girls, but for men and women. God didn’t bring together a boy and a girl in the Genesis, but two adults; Adam and Eve.

Courtship and marriage are steps towards the establishment of a marriage relationship, not an indication of a marriage relationship. What you don't know, you can't enjoy. What you don't understand, can't become part of your story. The statement: "The two shall be one flesh," is not an automatic experience when two individuals get married. It is a journey marriage couples are supposed to embark on in hope of reaching the point of oneness. There is a difference between the "two are one" and "the two shall be one flesh." Christ said: "I and my father are one," not shall be one. "Shall" is a pointer to a future possibility and not an actual reality. Thus, the real work is both before and after wedding. Not all marriages reach the dream point of "the two becoming one flesh," just like most spermatozoa s die without being fertilized into a foetus. Dr. Etta

Marriage can exist on papers for several years without producing the fruits of what it really means to be in a marriage relationship. Millions of people around the world are trying to make sense of what marriage is truly about. This is because the marriage institution has not been understood from the perspective of the one who instituted it. Dr. Etta 

True relationship merges minds (soul) and spirit in common interest, passion, vision, purpose and mission. When souls knit together, there is no price they can’t pay for each other. Sharing and sacrificing for each other is no longer a burden. DrBenard Etta  

Don't marry a boy, marry a man. Don't marry a girl, marry a woman. This is deeper than age; it has to do with maturity that comes along with information, challenging encounters, experiences and understanding of the dynamics of relationship building.
