Foundation Scripture: Matthew 5, verse 13 to 16.
"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The church can have tremendous influence in shaping the moral, social, cultural and spiritual character of every community, society, and nation. She is supposed to be the light and salt of every community, city, society and nation. However, in a situation where the church imbibes the "culture," it was supposed to change her light will become darkness. The transformation of a negative culture by the church requires a church leadership and movement with a visionary character; spiritually, mentally, socially and intellectually developed.
When we evaluate the impact of the church in a society by the size of church auditoriums, congregations and the opulence of church leaders, we miss the major and start majoring on minor. The transformation of the character of a society where the church operates is the measuring rod of the impact of the church.
For instance, looking at our African nations and the number and size of churches within every nation, one should expect to see countries with a strong moral, social, cultural and spiritual character, but that isn't the case. Why? How I wish this question becomes a topic in every interdenominational gathering.
The goal of this message is to help us understand why the number of churches in our nations has not translated into any meaningful transformation in our nations. If the churches are a part of the problem instead of the solution, they can't serve as God's transformational agents.
Christ said; you can't take out the mote from someone's eyes if you have a beam in your eyes. Matthew 7 : 3 -5.
Those words contain the principle required for the church to change the character of any society or nation she operates within. The church can't have the moral authority to bring the needed changes in the moral, social, cultural and spiritual character of a nation if the church is a victim of the same. Darkness can't cast out darkness.
So, the power of the church is in being the church, not in any other thing. Big buildings, bank accounts, assets and others may have their place, but they do not determine the impact of the church.
What does being the church means? The word "Church," in Latin ecclesia, and Greek "ek-ka-lein," means to "call out of. "The church is supposed to be "a call out" people in every nation; not a part of the corruption, political and social madness, the culture of greed, and egotism going on in a country. When the church in a society descends to the level of the people who don't know the Lord, she will exist as "noise" and not a voice.
"We are in the world and not of the world" as the Bible says, is the best biblical description of the church, which can cure the moral, social, spiritual and cultural malaise of a nation. In a situation where the values of the church, sense of direction, and character is same as that of the country she operates within, it becomes practically impossible for the church to become an agent of transformation within the nation.
For instance, when ordinary politicians loot a nation's wealth and use part of the money to support church projects and the churches see no problem with that, how on earth can the church serve as a voice against corruption?
When church leaders amass so much wealth when their people are languishing in poverty, how on earth can the church speak out against the culture of impunity and self-aggrandizement among the nation's elites?
When money becomes the determining factor of the place one occupies in a church, how on earth can the church change the cultural value where money is crowned king," which is why some young men and women get into arm robbery, prostitution, and other vices to meet up?
When the messages from the pulpit glorify the mindsets and attitudes, which the church was supposed to be speaking against, how on earth do you think the church can serve as the light in a dark world?
In a society of selfishness, racism, and individualism, if these same attitudes are evident in the character of the church, she would become a toothless bulldog. A toothless bulldog will bark, look tough and intimidating, but can't bite. Is this the picture of the church in your nation? The church needs change, and you and I can become that change. Let's seek the Lord for the transformation of the church into the light and salt of the earth. That is the breakthrough required for the church to transform society. We pray that this message serves the purpose the Holy Spirit ordained it in Jesus name!
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he comes and rains righteousness upon you.
Hosea 10 : 12.
You can't solve a problem if you are a part of the problem. The strategy of the forces of darkness to silence anyone is to make the individual a part of the problem the person was destined to solve. The devil has no business stopping anyone from preaching or starting a church or ministry; her goal is to make you a victim of what you were to change via your preaching or ministry. The intent is to render the ministry of anyone who becomes her victim of no consequence. Leaving the individual busy with ministry activities, but changing nothing, and active, but not effective. Could this be the devil's assault weapon against those in places of leadership in ministry today?
I rather not have a ministry or church than to have one, which has no consequence. It's better to do nothing than to be active, but not productive. Ministry that only offers a minister the opportunity to live a better life, but does n't change anything in his or her community is useless. If the presence of a church in a city makes no positive difference, then the absence of that church is better than its presence. The impact of a ministry or church in a community shouldn't be measured by the prosperity of its leader, but by the quality of transformation, it brings to the city.

1) Hide Thyself, (1 Kings 17:3)
2) Show Yourself (1 Kings 18:1)
You can't accomplish much in your nation or generation if you don't understand the above strategy. There is a time to "hide;" no posters, handbills, billboards, TV or Radio programs anywhere, nor conferences, etc. If you think, the ministry is all about being in the public eye every day; you may find yourself someday in the public eye, but with nothing substantial to offer, leading to an irreversible descent into irrelevance.
"Hide Thyself."
Can the young people in ministry today accept to go away from the public eye for three and a half years as Elijah did with the kind of anointing Elijah carried on his life? I wonder-ooooh! Won't they be afraid of losing their spot in the public eye? Many emerging ministers are "bleeding and losing blood" because of wounds they have incurred in the battle, instead of moving away from the public eye, their ego keeps them going as walking deads.
The decade 2000-2010, the Lord used my life and ministry to launch a new era of ministry impact in Cameroon, which led to a significant transformation of lives and the rise of many young voices. But after the year 2010, the Lord told me to do what Elijah did (Hide thyself). It stirred up so much controversy because most people don't walk in wisdom nor understand kingdom strategy for uncommon impact.
When Elijah reappeared after three and a half years of being totally out of the public eye, he turned the nation of Israel back to God in a single day. There are some of you running and doing many things just to impress the public when you were to be in hiding, preparing for a real onslaught against the forces of darkness in your city and nation. You want to please people, forgetting that they didn't call you, and you aren't "a man of the people," but a man of God. So, what people think and say, shouldn't be what you worry about.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Gen: 1:3
What most of us think is that when God said: "let there be light," that was when "light" came into existence. I thought that also for several years until when God opened my understanding to the revelation of truth.
Now, take away the phrase "And God said, Let there be light," what you will have is the phrase, ''and there was light." If this is all you have, what will be the reading? It implies that light has been in existence, even when darkness covered the face of the earth. All God did was to bring it forth by making the right move when he said, LET THERE BE LIGHT! It is like calling someone in a dark room to come. The person is already in the house but needs to be called to present himself.
If someone calls you and you came, it does not mean you were not existing, and merely came into existence when called. No! You existed but only appeared after being invited. Listen! Whatever you are expecting in life is existing. In fact, if it weren't existing, you wouldn't have it. Trying to get something which isn't existing is but fantasy. If it isn't existing, then you shouldn't expect to have it. As God made a move to call for light from the womb of existence, so we have to make certain moves to bring into manifestation what has already existed with our names written on it.
Life is all about accepting responsibility to bring things forth. Nothing happens by chance; it's an assertion in physics that "AN OBJECT IS AT REST UNTIL A FORCE IS APPLY TO IT." That means objects don't move by themselves without an application of force to move them. Remember, four leprous men at the gate of Samaria said to themselves, "Why sit we here until we die?" They decided to make a move and by doing so, they discovered that what they were looking for was already waiting for them.
You can't imagine the enormous power you can activate if you decide to make a move to achieve what you desire. Prayer is good if it is part of a broader strategy to receive what it takes to make things happen. Praying without taking steps will turn anyone, any day into a prey. Some reading this article may be sitting and doing nothing, but expecting the unexpected. That is nothing but superstition. It does not work that way anywhere even in heaven.
Those who sit and do nothing to improve their lives and to get to their dreams, end up as "statutes." Nothing stinks like stagnant water! It is time to go for what you want; aspire to acquire what you desire. It is already waiting for you, but you have to make the right moves. AMAZINGLY! WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, IS LOOKING FOR YOU. I wish you a great week. Cheers! DrBenard Etta
But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not. 1Kings 1:10.
When you are not the cheap type, who can be bought over to patronize a lie, don't expect the "Adonijahs" to invite you to their manmade, ambitious and self-promoted coronations and so-called church/ministerial schemes.
I encourage every inquisitive reader to read and meditate on the full account of the above "drama" in 1Kings 1: 1-9. The whole "drama" began when Adonijah the son of King David, declared his ambition to be king, at a time when the nation of Israel was in dire need for a new leader since David was old and stricken in years.
In those days, Israel wasn't a democracy, but a theocracy. God was their king and he chooses whom he pleases to represent him. He gave them Saul when the people demanded a king from Samuel and when Saul left the path of righteous, God raised David, a man after his heart. So, Adonijah declaring himself king wasn't accordance to the order by which God gives kings to Israel. Moreover, the Lord has already revealed to King David whom his successor will be, and that was Solomon.
However, like all ambitious individuals, Adonijah wanted to be king so badly that he launched a political campaign to get what he wanted. Since he had enough cash to spend, people followed him and he invited some "compromisers" among David's men, but the scripture says, But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not. The question is why?
The answer to the above question is revealing and it sheds light on the drama going on in the church today. The church today is full of Adonijahs, I mean ambitious individuals who want just every religious title they can lay hands on. From "Chief Apostle" to "Bishop," to "Arch Bishop" and to "Cardinal,"etc. We may soon be having several pentecostal "Popes." I dey Laugh!
We thank God for the few genuine Apostles, Bishops, and Arch Bishops we have in the body of Christ, but the fact is, several individuals clamoring for these titles are mere "Adonijahs." God hasn't a file for them yet, but they are ready to spend money, cajole people and even willing to pay some reputable personalities with an appetite for cash, to support their schemes.
They have the money to invite whosoever they please for their "ordinations" and man-made coronations, but the truth is, the only invite those they know are "sellout," people with no integrity who like them, can support them. Did you hear that? They don't invite individuals like prophet Nathan, and Benaiah, and the mighty men of David because these men were close to the king and so, they knew whom the Lord has revealed to succeed King David.
Do we still have such people today? Men of the likes of Samuel who would refuse to anoint those God has not chosen at the determent of the ones God has chosen?
Adonijah didn't invite those he knew can't easily be bought over to patronize a lie. Individuals who knew the truth and can't support error. The rot in several quarters of Christendom is due to a deficiency of such people. It seems every holy office and function is available today to the highest bidders. It seems if you can pay, you can become anything overnight. May God have mercy on us!
Listen! If you are always a guest in most ecclesiastical gatherings in your community, city, nation and beyond, it may not be because of your kingdom insight, status, and fatherliness, but because you are known as someone who has no stand and patronizes everything as long as cash, food, and others are present.
The Adonijahs have no mandate from heaven but are imitators of the ministries of the anointed. They are spiritual "pirates," they copy patterns and messages from those God has mandated and claim that God gave them the revelations. Adonijahs are experts in self-promotion. They know how to get weak people on their side; they sometimes deceive even the elects who are not discerning to endorse them. Imagine if Adonijah succeeded in his scheme, he would have robbed Israel of a golden era of wisdom ordained to be ushered by Solomon. It is tragic when the wrong people occupy the right places. May God save us all! Watch out for part 2!DrBenard Etta
How can we sing the LORD'S song In a strange land? Psalm 137:4
I don't think so, neither is time to live like a "fat cat." We'll definitely celebrate, but not now. Celebrating in a time like this is like singing the Lord's song in a strange land. The state of our world is an indictment against all of us. Even though "celebration" is a fact of life, but it could become a distraction if we make it a major, instead of a natural consequence of achieving the major.
We have a mission, which we are already well behind schedule in fulfilling. Indulging in meaningless celebrations and wasteful spending at this crucial time is an act of insensitivity. We'll definitely celebrate I say it again, but not until the kingdoms of the world become the kingdom of our God and his Christ.
Bragging and showing off our material achievements at this time, is a symptom of semi-madness. It's time to stay focus! We can't afford to leave this world without bringing massive transformation to people, nations, and societies, above all, expanding the influence of the kingdom of God into all sectors and spheres of strategic importance.
Save the celebration and invest to save a soul. Save the extravagance and invest to deliver your community to the one who created all things and by him, all things consist. "Let's start selling what we have and giving to the poor." I'm not talking about charity and welfare here, neither was Christ talking about that either. He was talking about raising the standard of the "fall man" everywhere. Investing in bringing the life-transforming message of the kingdom of God, which is capable of restoring fallen humanity. We will definitely celebrate, but not now!
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land? Psalm 137:1-4
Be blessed!

We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Isaiah 26:18
Read and ponder on the above scriptural verse, what do you see?
When a woman is pregnant, the normal expectation is for her to deliver a baby( A human being with life either male or female) after nine months. Imagine a situation where the husband gets to the hospital on the day of delivery, to welcome the newborn baby, only to be told that the wife brought forth wind! What a miscarriage of expectation!
That was the state of Israel in our scriptural text. Israel was with child; she went through the pain of delivery but brought forth wind. Let's consider some few characteristics of wind to see why the above scenario was a miscarriage of expectation.
i) The Wind is momentary.
ii) The wind is invisible.
Thus, what Israel gave birth to, was momentary. It lasted only for minutes; it was all but noise with no residue for the present or future generation. It was fanfare without substance. The impact remained within the four walls of the delivery room (Within the church building / crusade ground). It didn't get to the people in the street nor did it spread into all sectors of the society. It was momentary!
What then was the consequence of such a miscarriage of expectation? The scriptures say; "we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen."
i) They wrought no deliverance in the earth, leaving the earth in captivity just as they met it. There was activity, but no productivity; noise, but no impact. There was busyness, but no real kingdom business.
ii) The inhabitants of the world saw nothing to cause them to fall before God. There was no true repentance nor transformation, and as a result, things remained the same.
The same scenario is playing out today. There are ministries and churches everywhere and ministers multiplying in their numbers. Everyone is claiming a special mandate from heaven with titles to support it. We seem to be with child; we go through pain to plant new churches, grow existing ones, expand into new territories, and host numerous programs. But the state of our world (Our communities, towns, cities and nations) is a clear indication that, despite our various efforts, we seem to have brought forth wind.
"We have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen." The above situation should move us to tears in search for God afresh, putting away our arrogance, pride and boastfulness in pursuit of a real breakthrough. It's what we must do or risk being spued out of his mouth. Rev 3:16-19. Watch out for part 2.Share if you can! DrBenard Etta
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Gen 1:3.
I hope you got the revelation. That's exactly what it takes to see a positive revolution. God, by saying, "Let there be light," he actually set his agenda. Listen! Let me talk to you. You need the courage to set your agenda, I mean what you really want to see done. Be specific!
Before God stepped out to announce his agenda, the scripture says, "the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep." Did you hear that? If you were in God's place, what would you have done?
God didn't deny the fact that there was darkness, but he stepped out and clearly spell out his agenda. "Let there be light." His agenda was light! Do you see that? Change doesn't come by guessing, you must have a clear agenda you are willing to deploy all the might God has given you to bring about.
The latter part of the text says, "and there was light." You see, God set his agenda and it came to pass just as he wanted it. Goal setters are goal getters!
Some of you are afraid to step out and to boldly declare the agenda for your ministry or business for fear of failure. Leaders are bold, where are you coming from? Chicken heart-ed individuals can't possess their promised land.
God saw the darkness on the face of the earth, but that didn't stop him from making bold his agenda. In 2013, I heard him say, as from 2015 and beyond, go and empower 10.000 people in the city of Bamenda Cameroon, and same in Yaoundé and Douala to discover, develop and to maximize their potential to fulfill their purpose of existence via mentorship. I made bold my God's given agenda to my inner circle and am about to make it to the entire city of Bamenda as a five-year plan. I remember one of my young men said to me, sir, why not just keep working without necessarily setting such an agenda? I looked at him and smiled, and told him, you can't accomplish much without setting targets.
God said, "let there be light;" he set his agenda. Go and do the same. Stop wishing for success, create it. God bless you! Dr.Benard Etta
